Should I get an internal or external antenna?
The internal wifi will not work or will work poorly if the controller is mounted in an enclosed metal box; you want an external antenna.
Most grills have the controller mounted in the pellet hopper box. The internal antenna will work good in grills that have the bottom of the pellet hopper open, like most Traegers. Grills that have a cover with air holes for the bottom of the pellet hopper box, like most Z-Grills, it is now recommended that you get the external antenna.
